Oliver Koletzki was born in Braunschweig, Germany, where he began DJing at 18 before relocating to Berlin in 2000 to study music and embed himself in the city's electronic scene. His 2005 debut release Der Muckenschwarm landed in Sven Vath's record bag, was signed to Cocoon Recordings, and became the best-selling techno record of that year, earning him Newcomer of the Year in Groove magazine. He is the founder of the influential Stil vor Talent label, which has helped launch artists including Township Rebellion, Reinier Zonneveld, and HVOB. In April 2026 he released his twelfth studio album, simply titled 12, continuing a career of over two decades that spans melodic techno, Afro house, and organic electronic music.
